Close to the Indian boarder there is the Buddhist holly place in Nepal. Lumbini where was Buddha born.
In 1997 Lumbini village was signed for UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Many Buddhist pilgrims come here every year to pray, contemplate and admire.
Lumbini the birthplace of Buddha is a large site of the land with monasteries , monuments and Maya Devi Temple believed to be the exact birthplace of prince Siddhārtha Gautama in 563 BC who achieved Enlightenment at age of 35 and became Buddha.
After visiting Bardia National Park we came here by bus from Kohalpur, which broke on the way. We had to change buses, and finish our trip on the bus rooftop.
Late at night we checked in to a hotel close to Lumbini site, and had one of the worst nights ever. There were maybe 30 deg C and no power, so no aircondition and not even one fan working. Cold shower every 30 minutes was only option, but very little sleep.

Asia trip was a spiritual journey and it was a big thing for me, because a few years back I was in Bethlehem where Jesus was born. I don’t know if this is just me but I could feel some kind of unusual energy in both places.
The whole Unesco Site is filled with many monasteries from diferent countries. I concentrated on the gardens and nature.
After Lumbini we took a night bus to Pokhara and Annapurna Sanctuary Trek
and even to go Himalaya Paragliding
