Mui Ne, once a small fishing village became the most popular costal destination in Vietnam with over one hundred resorts and many bars and restaurants.
For us it was a perfect destination for couple of days to rest and chill after visiting beautiful Vietnam.
Known for it’s sandy beaches, fantastic wind conditions for kitesurfers and windsurfers, Mui Ne offers also majestic sand dunes and good seafood restaurants.
Located not far from Phan Thiet in south Vietnam, on a peninsula, Mui Ne is about 10km of coastline with beautiful beaches and perfect microclimate for wind sports. Beacause of long distances hiring a scooter for couple of bucks is very convenient.
See what Mui Ne can offer:
– Beaches
More than 10km of white sandy beaches with many resorts to choose from.
– Kite and Wind surfing
There are a few schools you can start wind or kite surfing with trainers, or just rent equipment and do it yourself. It’s not that expensive, especially if you’ll rent for longer period, you can get a much better deal.
– Accomodation
You can choose from 4 or 5 star hotels or simple room for less than 10 USD a night.
– Bars and restaurants
There are many fancy seafood restaurants run by the Russians with very good service and fresh food, not skyrocket prices meals though.
If you’ll like a Shark or a Moray – you can get one here.
If you are on a lower budget street stalls near fishing village are also good place to eat. You can talk to locals, and have a tasty, cheap meal.
Because so many young people come here for wind sports, a list of bars is also long.
Our favourite chill place was a Kingston Reggae bar with refreshing juices and comfy lounge area.
– White Sand Dunes
About 30km away there are Sahara-like huge white sand dunes.
Take a jeep tour. If you go by scooter– beware of policeman shooting you with 40kmph limit. Unfortunatelly I was riding much more than forty, so I left most of my money with them for a speed ticket. Had to skip an ATV ride on dunes… A bare feet walk in dune’s sands was also very cool.
–Red Sand Dunes
Just outside the village, very nice, and much smaller than the White ones…
– A fishing village
A place on peninsula where most fisherman live. People are friendly and focused on their business. You can walk along narrow streets and meet locals by the sea.
